(B-2) Frequency Polygon -

●     Formed by joining mid-points of tops of all rectangles in histogram

 

Polygon can also be drawn even without constructing a histogram.

 

●     On X-axis of graph, mid-values of classes of Frequency Distribution are marked

●     On Y-axis, corresponding frequencies are marked

●     All points indicating frequencies of different classes are joined using a scale to make a straight line

●     Both endpoints of frequency polygon are extended to meet the X-axis at immediate lower or higher mid-points at zero frequency with baseline

TO ensure that Area of frequency polygon is the same as that of corresponding Histogram
