Fair
Use of/ Fair Dealing with Copyrighted Material/Content(s)
The Website “Statistics for Economics | 11th Commerce” at URL https://statomics11comm.blogspot.com/ is solely for educational and general information purposes. Each BlogPost is a derivative work i.e. condensation/summarization of preexisting works expressing the most important facts or ideas in a short and clear form drafted/prepared from various Commerce and Management Studies Books by myself after going through long intensive study sessions during the course of my graduation and post-graduation years. Simply put, the Post Content is nothing but quick recall and exam revision notes.
As per Indian Copyright Law, many types of exploitation of work which are for social purposes such as education, religious ceremonies, and so on are exempted from the operation of the rights granted in the Act. Copyright in a work is considered as infringed only if a substantial part is made use of unauthorizedly. What is ‘substantial’ varies from case to case. More often than not, it is a matter of quality rather than quantity. For example, if a lyricist copy a very catching phrase from another lyricist’s song, there is likely to be infringement even if that phrase is very short.
As per United States Copyright Law, under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favour of fair use.
While there is no definitive test for determining whether anyone’s use of another's copyrighted work is a fair use, there are several things which I did to minimize my risk of copyright liability.
Please pay your due attention to following noteworthy points:-
- I did NOT merely copied from the original books, rather transformed content by adding new expression to it by writing in own words, drawing customized figures/pictures, tables, flow charts etc.
- I limited my usage of copyrighted content mostly to the facts and data only.
- Study Material published herein does not serve as a replacement of demand for original books but supplements it.
- I respected and complied with the attribution requirement/ acknowledgement of Author(s) and its (their) Work(s).
NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!
