DEMERITS of Arithmetic Mean -

 

1.    NOT always a representative value - gets distorted by presence of extreme values in the Series

2.    Mean value may sometimes be that value which does not figure in the series at all

3.    Sometimes offers laughable conclusions

4.    NOT a suitable measure in case of Percentage or Proportionate Values


5.    Sometimes offers Misleading Results
