1. Title - Provided at top center of table, must be compatible with the study objective
2. cell items which are to be compared with each other should be placed in rows and columns close to each other
3. Special Emphasis items should be presented in bold figures
4. Make sure that size of the table does not become too large to comprehend, You must first draw a rough format
5. If rows are very long, Stubs (row headings) may be provided at right hand side of table
6. Zero should be used only to indicate quantity of a variable
For indicating non-available data, mention N.A. or a Hyphen (-)
7. Headings in singular form
8. Avoid using abbreviations and ditto sign
9. Footnote should bear Asterisk mark (*)
10. Specify units of data measurement above columns
11. Give subtotal of rows and Grand Total
12. Also use percentage figures
13. Mention extent of approximation (if so) of items in footnote
14. Source of secondary data (if so) under footnote
15. Symmetrical and uniform size of columns
16. Columns may be subdivided into different sections according to data similarities
17. Simple, attractive, space economical
